In fact, RIGDUP started where most great Aussie 4WD stories do -- in a Queensland warehouse, with a frustration. Because off-the-shelf rooftop tents weren't built for the country we actually drive in.
So we built our own hardshell roof top tents. Then we tested them from the dunes of Stockton to the red dirt of the Tanami. Hardshell aluminium, gas-strut deployment, sealed canvas. As a result, every component holds itself to a spec -- not a price.

PVDF anti-oxidation coating. So it's light enough to mount solo, yet structural enough to take a roof load. In short, no flex, no creak, no cracks at corrugation speed.
280GSM RIPSTOP. 3000MM SEALED.
Polycotton ripstop with a 3000mm waterhead, fully seam-sealed and reinforced at every stress point. Then we tested it in outback heat, coastal storms, and red-dust country.
SIXTY-SECOND DEPLOYMENT
Two latches, two gas struts, one minute. In other words, driveway to deployed without a tool, a pole, or a second pair of hands.
GAS-STRUT ENGINEERED.
Twin nitrogen-charged struts rated for 5,000+ open/close cycles. As a result, deployment stays smooth and controlled -- even after years of corrugation country.
BUILT-IN INSULATION.
Anti-condensation mat included as standard. So the roof top tent sleeps quiet through 40°C summer afternoons and below-zero high-country mornings.
UV-RESISTANT FABRIC.

Most RIGDUP hardshell models set up in under 60 seconds using gas-strut assistance. First, unlock the latches and push, and the gas struts do the work -- no tools, no poles. Then pack-down takes about the same.
RIGDUP rigs mount to most 4WDs, utes and SUVs using load-rated roof racks or crossbars. First, check your vehicle's dynamic roof load rating -- our hardshell roof top tents are 65-78kg, so a dynamic capacity of at least 75kg is recommended. Then send us your make and model and we'll confirm.
Yes -- 280gsm ripstop polycotton canvas with a 3000mm PU waterproof rating. In addition, every seam is sealed and the stitching reinforced. Then we test for outback rain, coastal storms, and harsh UV.
